Join Jelly on the third Saturday of each month in the artist studios and workshop space within Broad Street Mall for the Jelly Family Art Club with Reading artist and arts educator Julie Calce as they celebrate the art of recycling and collaborative art making!

If your child attends 6 sessions, these do not need to be consecutive, they will be able to earn a Discover Arts Award for an additional £5. Please chat to Julie if this is something you are interested in.

Every third Saturday you and your child will be encouraged to explore imaginary worlds and characters through a range of changing art themes.

13th January - Using recycled christmas card/wrapping paper/magazines etc. create a multi media collage, inspired by artist Michel Keck
Feb 17th - Create a wire, wool and bead insect sculpture, inspired by the artist Anna Van Bohemen
March 17th - Create your own colourful vinyl picture, inspired by the artist Sanna Annukka
April 21st - Collograph and potato printing - create your own fabric, inspired by artist Lucienne Day
May 19th - papier mache birds
June 23rd - nature /wool weaving necklace
July 21st - paper clay fantastical animal sculptures, inspired by artist Hiroshi Yoshii

Julie is a mixed media artists and specialises in working with paper, paper mache and textiles. She loves drawing and is influenced by illustration and nature. Julie is an experienced arts educator and has a fun and playful approach to allow creativity to flourish.

Please note that this session may be messy. Please bring your own apron and baby wipes. We do not have a toilet within our unit. Public toilets are located a short walk away. We will provide water for hand washing.

Providing the age of your child at the time of booking will help Julie to tailor your session according to their age.

Sometimes we take photos during the Jelly Family Art Club sessions that we use on our social media networks. Please indicate on the booking form if you do not wish us to take photos of your child and please notify the workshop leader at the start of the session. The workshop leader will always ask permission before taking photos
