Local Quizzers raise more than £1400 for Naomi House & Jacksplace at De Vere Wokefield Estate

De Vere Wokefield Estate, part of De Vere’s collection of Mansion House hotels and event destinations in Reading, hosted an amazing Charity Quiz Night on Thursday 7th November, which raised more than £1400 for local charity – Naomi House and Jacksplace.

More than 100 local people and 19 teams turned out to enjoy a fun-filled event, which comprised seven rounds of questions, including sport, music, general knowledge, history and two picture rounds. For the price of just £10 per person, which included food, local people put their brain power to the test and helped raise vital funds for the local group of hospices; Naomi House & Jacksplace. The hospices provide much-needed care and support to life-limited and life-threatened children, young adults and their extended families across the areas of Berkshire, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, West Sussex, Surrey and the Isle of Wight.

Peter Sangster, Venue Director at De Vere Wokefield Estate, said “We are thrilled to be able to host events such as this Quiz Evening, which not only entertain people who live and work around us but also raise much needed and vital funds for this awesome charity Naomi House & Jacksplace. We have a target to raise £10,000 by the end of April and we are already well on our way to achieving this target – raising more than £7,200 already. We hope that our funds can go some way to allow the comfort and support families who have children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.”

Additional funds were raised by hosting a raffle with prizes such as Dinner for two at Crowne Plaza Reading, Afternoon Tea for Two at Wellington Estate Farm Shop and a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast stay for two at Warbrook House.
