A half-day in-person course explaining how VAT reclaims work for eligible self build and conversion projects, led by VAT specialist Andrew Jones.

The NSBRC Guide to VAT Claims is a half-day course designed to help eligible self-builders and converters understand how to maximise VAT reclaims and avoid common errors. It is produced with VAT specialist Andrew Jones (The VATman), who has extensive experience processing VAT reclaims.

Who it is for

• Private individuals creating a new dwelling for themselves or a direct family member
• Relevant project types include self build/new build, demolition and rebuild, replacement dwellings, barn conversions, commercial-to-residential conversions and similar

• When VAT should be paid and at what rate
• How to achieve zero VAT where applicable
• Timeframes for submitting reclaims
• What can and cannot be reclaimed
• HMRC procedures and scrutiny areas
