TOWERGATE LAUNCHES ENHANCED BENEFIT FOR CANCER CHECKS

A recent study published in the world-renowned medical journal The Lancet, concluded that the UK might see an additional 3,500 cancer deaths over the next five years, as a result of the suspension of routine cancer screening services during the Covid-19 lockdown period.

Our sister company Towergate Health & Protection recently wrote to all its clients highlighting a 72% decline* in patient referrals for cancer symptoms since lockdown came into effect. They reminded their clients that on-line GP and specialist consultations, along with diagnostic tests for cancer, all remained available through their policy and urged those with symptoms not to delay in seeking a referral. The fact remains, however, that the suspension of NHS routine cancer screenings will have an impact on rates of early diagnosis and successful treatment of cancer.

Enhanced benefit for cancer checks worth £400

SME clients of Towergate Health & Protection, through its partnership with Cigna, can now get an exclusive, enhanced benefit for preventative cancer tests and health assessments.

This benefit can be received through the Cigna Health Flex Plan. The plan normally provides plan holders with a £200 annual benefit for preventative cancer tests, or towards the cost of a health assessment with Nuffield Health.

For Towergate Health & Protection clients, this benefit is doubled to £400**, giving them enhanced access to the range of preventative tests available with Cigna’s CHECK4CANCER feature.
