Mostly G&S presents Gilbert & Sullivan’s “The Yeomen of the Guard”, a Tower of London-set Savoy Opera combining romance, intrigue and farcical comedy, with evening and Saturday matinee performances.

Mostly G&S presents Gilbert & Sullivan’s THE YEOMEN OF THE GUARD, set in the Tower of London. The eleventh of the fourteen Savoy Operas, it remains one of the most popular works in the G&S repertoire.

The plot concerns the warders and inhabitants of the Tower and three outsiders. Colonel Fairfax has been imprisoned and is under sentence of death due to a fabricated charge of sorcery—can he be saved long enough for a reprieve from the King to arrive?

Two strolling players, Jack Point and Elsie Maynard, add songs, dances and comedy as romantic intrigues and life-saving plots unfold. Often described as the most serious G&S opera, it blends romance, deceit and tragedy with wit and charm.
