October Workshop: Mask Making

Get Halloween-ready with a fun and creative mask-making workshop where children can design their own spooky character and create a story or picture book to take home.

Calling all little monsters, witches, vampires and magical creatures! Join Reading Rep for a Spooky Mask Making Workshop designed especially for children aged 5–10.

Using colourful card, feathers, gems, glitter, paints and plenty of creepy decorations, children can design and create their own unique Halloween mask. They can choose from spooky templates or invent a character of their own, whether that’s a black cat, pumpkin, skeleton, bat or mysterious creature.

Alongside the mask-making activity, children will have the opportunity to create an original story or picture book featuring their favourite ghostly character.

The workshop is designed to encourage creativity, imagination and confidence, with friendly guidance and plenty of materials provided. No previous experience is needed, and children can take their finished mask and story book home ready for Halloween.
