Summer Relays

Summer Relays is a fun relay event featuring teams of three runners, with each runner completing one leg. The event supports Chemogiftbags and encourages participants to predict their finishing time without using a watch.

Date: Tuesday 9th June 2026

Time: 7.00pm

Entry & format

• £15 per team (3 members per team; one leg each)
• Each leg is 3379 metres (course described as “top secret”)
• Minimum age: 16
• Open to non-club runners; individuals without a team can be matched on the night

How it works

• The key challenge is predicting pace and finishing time without wearing a sports watch or carrying a phone
• Predicted times must be submitted before the event and cannot be changed
• Winning team is closest to its predicted times
• Prizes for the winning team and the individual closest to predicted time

On the day

• Collect team numbers from Coronation Hall between 6.10pm and 6.50pm
• Parking: pay & display Woodley Lidl/Library Car Park, Headley Road, Woodley, RG5 4JA
• Refreshments may be available to buy in Coronation Hall
